About ZOLL PRO
The ZOLL Pro package is designed to handle the toughest environments for professional rescuers, but is also gentle enough for the lay rescuer. It provides a high-resolution LCD, instant feedback on rate and depth of CPR chest compressions with both visual and optional audible cues, resistance to dust, high pressure, and direct water spray, and is available in the semi-automatic or fully-automatic + manual override configurations. AED Leader is an AUTHORIZED online distributor of ZOLL AED devices.
The ZOLL AED Pro is the professional sibling of the AED Plus, same Real CPR Help® depth + rate sensor, plus manual override mode and real-time ECG display. Built for paramedics, fire crews, ski patrol, and military medics where the responder is BLS-trained, and the cabinet is field-deployed. IP55 + 1.5 m drop spec, same proven CPR-D-Padz consumable workflow. We do not recommend the Pro for offices or schools, the AED Plus is the right ZOLL for lay rescuers.
Best for
- Fire + EMS + ambulance
- Military medics + tactical teams
- Ski patrol + lifeguards
- Industrial safety teams with BLS training
Not ideal for
- Offices, schools, gyms (AED Plus instead)
- Untrained lay rescuers
- Connected fleet dashboards (ZOLL AED 3)

- Common Questions
Frequently asked questions.
When is manual override mode appropriate?
Manual override is for BLS or ACLS-certified responders only, paramedics, fire crews, tactical medics, ski patrol with medical training. Use cases include delivering a shock outside auto-detection thresholds, managing difficult rhythms with on-scene physician guidance, or running protocols not supported by standard AED auto-mode. For lay rescuers, manual override is genuinely dangerous and should never be used. The ZOLL AED Pro requires deliberate training before deploying with manual mode enabled, and most fleet deployments lock the feature behind authorized-user PINs.
ZOLL AED Pro vs LIFEPAK 1000?
Both are pro-grade with manual override + ECG. Choose the AED Pro if you want Real CPR Help compression feedback alongside the pro features, it’s the more complete BLS tool. Choose the LIFEPAK 1000 if you procure through DOD DAPA, want rechargeable battery rotation via charger, or your fleet is already standardized on Physio-Control. The AED Pro is $100 cheaper at $2,295 but has a 5-year warranty vs the LIFEPAK 1000’s 8-year. For fire/EMS departments, both work, pick by fleet standard.
ZOLL AED Pro vs ZOLL AED Plus, which for me?
Choose the AED Pro if your responders are BLS-trained and you need manual override + ECG + Real CPR Help in one device. Choose the AED Plus if your responders are workplace safety staff (less than BLS) and you want Real CPR Help in a simpler workflow at $500 less ($1,795 vs $2,295). Both share CPR-D-Padz and Stat-Padz HVP. The Pro has IP55 + 1.5m drop spec; the Plus has IP55 without the drop rating. For pure office or gym use, the Plus is correct.
Does the Pro use the same CPR-D-Padz as the Plus?
Yes, the ZOLL AED Pro uses the same CPR-D-Padz as the AED Plus (5-year shelf, ~$185), plus the option of Stat-Padz HVP for multi-function defib + pacing + monitor capability at $95 single pack or ~$680 for the 8-pack bulk. CPR-D-Padz cross-fit perfectly. Stat-Padz are AED Pro only, they will NOT work on the AED Plus. For lay rescue, CPR-D-Padz on either device works. For clinical EMS environments, Stat-Padz unlock the pro-grade multi-function workflow.
