Can I use expired AED pads in an emergency?
Do not deploy expired pads if you have any alternative.
Adhesive degrades, gel dries out, and shock delivery becomes unreliable after expiration. In a witnessed cardiac arrest with only expired pads available: use them and call 911 immediately — some conductivity is better than none. But replace them the same day.
Do I need pediatric AED pads for a K-12 school?
Yes for K-12 schools serving children under 8 or under 55 lbs.

Do I need to replace the pads after using the AED in a rescue?
Yes. Always replace pads immediately after any rescue deployment.
Pads are single-use. Adhesive contamination and gel loss compromise the next rescue. Also replace the battery — batteries deplete significantly during activation even if no shock was delivered.
What's the difference between ZOLL Stat Padz and CPR-D-padz?
CPR-D-padz include CPR sensor + 5-year shelf life. Stat Padz are simpler 2-year pads.
