No — the G5’s built-in Child Mode button adjusts shock energy for a pediatric patient, but pad geometry still matters. Pediatric chest size requires smaller pad surface area and different placement than adult pads. Using adult Intellisense pads on a pediatric patient (even with Child Mode enabled) creates burn risk and may not achieve effective defibrillation. For schools, daycare, and any K-12 facility, stock dedicated G5 Pediatric Intellisense pads alongside adult pads. The button alone is not the complete pediatric workflow.
G5 pediatric pads vs G3 pediatric — same or different SKU?
Different SKUs entirely. The G3 used legacy pediatric pads that won’t connect to the G5; the G5 uses modern Intellisense-compatible pediatric pads.
