- 🎯 The Editorial Verdict
The HeartSine Samaritan Pad Pak 01 includes replacement pads and a replacement battery, making it one of the most convenient defibrillator pads on the market. Rather than having to track separate expiration dates for your pads and battery, you have just a single cartridge to replace.
Best of all, the Pad-Pak has one of the longest shelf lives of any AED pad or battery. While most defibrillator pads last 2 years, the Pad-Pak lasts a full 4 years from the time of manufacture.
Pad Pak 01 Compatible AED Models
The HeartSine Samaritan Pad Pak 01 cartridge is compatible with the following automated external defibrillators:
This cartridge is designed for patients over 8 years old and weighing over 55 pounds. If you need a child’s model, we also carry the Samaritan Pad-Pak Pediatric Cartridge.
The HeartSine Pad-Pak combines battery and adult electrode pads into a single 4-year cartridge. Replace one cartridge instead of tracking two separate maintenance cycles (battery + pads) — the design simplicity is the reason HeartSine is the lowest-maintenance AED line. Compatible with the Samaritan PAD 350P, 360P, and 450P. Pediatric version available separately (Samaritan Pediatric Pad-Pak). Authentic HeartSine inventory from authorized U.S. distributors only.
The HeartSine Adult Pad-Pak 01 is one cartridge containing both the adult pads and the device battery — replaced as a single unit every 4 years. This eliminates the two separate replacement schedules every other AED requires, and produces the lowest annual upkeep ($45/yr) in the U.S. market. Compatible with the HeartSine 350P, 360P, and 450P. Pediatric patients require the separate (pink) Pediatric Pad-Pak.

- Common Questions
Frequently asked questions.
Can I buy just the HeartSine battery without new pads?
No — HeartSine’s Pad-Pak architecture intentionally combines pads and battery into one cartridge. There is no separate battery SKU. This is the whole point of the Pad-Pak workflow: one consumable, one replacement schedule, one calendar reminder. If your pads still look fine but the device indicator went red, the cartridge still needs replacement because the battery has reached end-of-life. The combined cartridge approach trades pad-only refill flexibility for the lowest annual upkeep in the U.S. AED market (~$45/yr).
Adult vs Pediatric Pad-Pak — which do I need?
Use the gray Adult Pad-Pak 01 for patients 8 years and older, or 55+ pounds. Use the pink Pediatric Pad-Pak for patients under 8 years or under 55 pounds. For mixed-population sites (schools, daycare, churches with children’s programs, youth athletic facilities), stock both side-by-side in the same cabinet. The deliberately different colors prevent wrong-SKU errors during a panicked rescue. Both cost ~$185–195 with the same 4-year cycle, so the dual stock adds about $50/yr in annual upkeep.
What happens when the Pad-Pak expires?
The HeartSine device’s daily self-test detects the upcoming expiration and flips the status indicator from green to red approximately 30 days before the printed “Use By” date. The device will still deliver a rescue past expiration but reliability drops and you lose certification compliance. Replace immediately when the indicator changes. The expired cartridge can be recycled through Stryker’s battery recycling program. Don’t attempt to disassemble the Pad-Pak — the battery cells are sealed and lithium-based.
Are Pad-Paks interchangeable across 350P/360P/450P?
Yes — Adult Pad-Pak 01 and Pediatric Pad-Pak work identically across the HeartSine 350P, 360P, and 450P. This is deliberate accessory standardization: a district running mixed-model HeartSine fleets only needs to stock two cartridge SKUs total. The 450P’s CPR Rate Advisor and the 360P’s fully-automatic shock are device-level features, not pad-level. Pad-Pak interchangeability makes HeartSine the easiest multi-device fleet to procure consumables for in the entire AED category.
