Practical Considerations
Training consumables are used during practice sessions and need periodic replacement. Order sufficient quantities for your training schedule.
Philips OnSite Adult Training Pads are replacement pads for the HeartStart OnSite (HS1) Trainer — the office and workplace AED most commonly used in U.S. corporate CPR + AED instructor programs. Training use only — they do NOT deliver shocks and are NOT for use on live patients. Mate with the HS1 Trainer connector for instructor-led class practice. Authentic distributor stock only.

- Common Questions
Frequently asked questions.
Are OnSite + FRx training pads interchangeable?
No — OnSite Adult Training Pads work only with the Philips OnSite Trainer device, and FRx Training Pads II work only with the Philips FRx Trainer device. The two Trainer devices have different connectors and different simulated workflows (OnSite uses pull-cartridge activation; FRx uses pull-tab activation). Instructors running both Philips Trainer devices need both training pad SKUs stocked separately. Don’t try to substitute — the Trainer won’t recognize the wrong pad and the simulated rescue will fail mid-class, which embarrasses the instructor and disrupts student learning.
How to run a 30-min family briefing?
A 30-minute family AED briefing using the OnSite Trainer covers: (1) what sudden cardiac arrest looks like, (2) how to recognize when an AED is needed, (3) OnSite cabinet location and access, (4) pull-cartridge activation walkthrough, (5) one simulated rescue cycle per attendee using Training Pads. CPR1 publishes an AHA-aligned 30-minute briefing curriculum that pairs with OnSite Trainer hardware. For home buyers, this briefing dramatically improves real-rescue outcomes — even untrained family members benefit from one focused walk-through.
